Naja and The Chocolate Funk Band was formed in 2007 by the husband and wife team of Karen Moore-Williams and Robin K. Williams after completion of their digital debut CD Chocolate Aphrodisiac. The band was formed to perform their original music and poetry live in and around the city of Philadelphia. They have performed in such venues as The Arts Garage, North by Northwest, CEC Meeting House Theater, Rembrandt and most recently for the Presidents Ball for Phi Beta Sigma Philadelphia Chapter.
Naja and The Chocolate Funk Band continue to perform and delight audiences in and around the Tri State area.
"The interplay between the members of the band and the space given to each member to explore the possibilities of the music made for a transcendental listening experience. This band flat out rocked!"
"The American Heritage Dictionary describes music as “the art of arranging sounds in time so as to produce a continuous, unified, and evocative composition, as through melody, harmony, rhythm, and timbre” (2007). By all means, Naja is a performer who certainly makes music that fits this definition. In fact, when listening to her, Naja’s music seems to speak to the soul." Junior's Cave Online Magazine
